Reptile Supervisor

As the team lead for the Reptile Department, this position works with diverse reptiles including tortoises, snakes, and crocodilians. The central responsibility for this position is to ensure that all aspects of animal husbandry, exhibit maintenance, and holding area maintenance for the assigned collection, as well as other related projects and programs are carried out thoroughly and professionally. This position will also be responsible for working under the direction of the Curator to carry out the responsibility of managing the department. This position is responsible for training reptile staff in animal husbandry, capture/restraint, and venomous or dangerous animal handling. A minimum of 3 years of experience working with reptiles at an AZA-accredited institution is required. Fostering a positive teamwork atmosphere, attention to animal health, exhibit excellence, and visitor experience are the driving priorities in accomplishing the goals of this position.
