Animal Caretaker/Show Staff

Requirements:

• High School Degree/GED; Preference for further education

• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and maintain good physical health

• Availability based on part-time with possibility of full-time seasonal employment.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• College-level coursework in Animal Biology or other life sciences

• Previous experience working/caring for animals (farm, veterinary office, shelter, etc.)

• Public speaking experience

Besides education and some experience, personality and the ability to work with biting, scratching, and moody animals (and people!) is required to make this position a good fit. Animals often work on their own schedules and patience is key. This job is not all cute babies and glamour, it is mostly hard work. If selected, you will be presenting our animal ambassadors to the public throughout the day and must feel comfortable speaking in front of small-large crowds. You will also be providing general husbandry to our animal collection. We are currently looking for one part-time employee. A good work ethic, the ability to manage time well, a positive attitude, and attention to detail help to keep the animals AND the visitors happy.
